Rotary District 5910 Grant Project

Rotary District 5910 Matching Grant
This year our club received a Rotary District 5910 Matching Grant to purchase two benches and a trash receptacle.  They were originally going to be used to enhance the area around the Rotary Pavilion where the club had already donated two large oak trees, but the City of Texas City decided there was not a need for them.  Instead, the benches were given to Independence Village as they lost some during Hurricane Beryl and the trash receptacle was given to the Salvation Army for their playground park area.

Pictured below are photos from these two dedications.

Vocational service is the way Rotary fosters and supports the application of the ideal of service in the pursuit of all vocations.  Rotary encourages and fosters high ethical standards in business and professions; recognizes the worthiness of all useful occupations, and encourages each Rotarian to dignify his or her occupation as an opportunity to serve society.

During the month of January we want our club to recognize in a meaningful way how Rotarians and others in the community have made major contributions through their vocations as a means of service to society.  We need to highlight and hold up for public recognition the effort of those who make our communities better places to live and work.
